Massage Therapy Sessions include:
Thai Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, and Reflexology

Massage Sessions can be 60 or 90 minutes, and the client can dress to their comfort level. Depending on the type of massage requested, too much clothing can hamper the therapist’s ability to provide a thorough treatment. This can be discussed at the beginning of the session. Clients will also have a choice of lotion or oil used, or can bring their own product. Whatever modality you choose, expect to walk away feeling relaxed and rejuvenated!

Adam Riggio LMT is a gentle and calm soul who finds joy in helping others. Having practiced martial arts since 1994, he felt a special connection with the art of Tai Chi, and later Qigong. In 2018 Adam pursued education in several healing modalities, earning his license in Massage Therapy, and certifications in Acupressure, Reiki, and Qigong healing and teaching. He became especially passionate with his Acupressure studies, where the focus was on chronic pain and emotions, as well as working with trauma. He recently became certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Tui Na. Adam can incorporate this into his massage and energy work to give clients a holistic healing experience.

Adam believes strongly a person’s innate ability to heal themselves in mind, body, and spirit. He will help you recognize what is causing your “dis-ease” and help empower you to take charge of finding your own energetic balance.

Adam also holds a Master’s in Education. Coupled with his many years of martial arts training and teaching, ranging from self-defense, exercise for senior citizens, and working with at risk-youth, Adam can adjust his teaching to fit the needs of each individual.

Massage Therapy

Utilizes many different techniques to relieve tension and soreness in the muscles and joints of the body. Each client will talk with the therapist about what to expect, which modality will be used, and what their goals for the session are. Individuals are encouraged to communicate their comfort level, in regards to pressure and/or technique, during the massage session.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage be used to address chronic muscle knots and stubborn tension in the body. The therapist will use deeper pressure, trigger point therapy, and slower strokes to relieve tension from the deepest layers of the muscles and connective tissues. Myofascial Release techniques can be incorporated for a deeper treatment that is sure to help you feel more relaxed and tension-free.

Thai Massage

Thai massage is a therapeutic modality that improves circulation, flexibility, and sleep while decreasing stress, anxiety, muscle and joint pain. The practitioner will use their hands, elbows, knees, and feet to compress and gently stretch the client. The client will be guided through a number of postures and positions to receive a full body (and mind!) experience.
Unlike Swedish massage, there are no oils or lotions used, and the client is fully clothed. A massage table is used so clients of any age and physical condition can experience the benefits. Due to the nature of this practice, clients are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing, and a hair tie for longer hair. If you have any type of injury, please discuss this with the therapist before you start your session.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a healing modality based on the principle that there are areas and points on the feet (as well as the hands and ears) that are connected through the nervous system to corresponding parts of the body. When pressure is applied to these areas and points it stimulates the movement of energy along the nerve channels and helps to restore homeostasis in the body.

Our feet take a beating! They constantly support our weight throughout the day, we walk many miles, as well as other everyday activities. Plus, they do this in footwear that constricts and squeezes, making their job that much more difficult. It’s no wonder they can accumulate tension and fatigue. Since the body is seen as a single unit (not just feet, ankles, legs, etc) this built-up tension can impact other parts of the body. By treating the feet, we can say we are treating the whole body. A Reflexology session is 60 minutes that your feet will thank you for!

Benefits:

  • Improved circulation
  • Improved mood
  • Improved immune system
  • Improves blood circulation
  • Improves nerve functions
  • Helps the body eliminate toxins (effects the organs, namely the bladder, which is a big part of this function)
